Health - admin - November 28, 2021

Aging can be a bitter pill to swallow for many people who wish to stay youthful for a long time. Fortunately, there are cosmetic products and surgeries to decrease the rate of aging and maintain a youthful look. Many visible signs like wrinkles, hollow cheek, etc., are caused due to loss of volume. Nowadays, people use dermal fillers to regain some of the lost volumes to correct the visible signs of aging. There are several types of dermal fillers that beginners should know about to have a safe experience.

Dermal Fillers – An introduction

They are gel-like substances that individuals inject beneath their skin to regain volume, which smoothes the wrinkles and makes a face look contoured. As per a study, nearly 1 million people start using dermal fillers every year to keep up their young looks.

Understanding the types of dermal fillers

The most common types are listed below.

  1. Calcium hydroxylapatite

Calcium is found naturally in the human body but, when injected externally, it plays some specific roles. It helps to correct creases, frown lines, and marionette lines on the face. It also helps with improving volume lost due to conditions like HIV-positive.

  1. Hyaluronic Acid

This substance is gaining popularity in cosmetics these days as it can reduce depressions in the face and enhance the natural contour. It can help with issues other than aging like acne scars, facial scars, worry lines, and more.

  1. Polyalkylimide

It is not a permanent filler and treats wrinkles, plumping thin lips, facial wasting, and more. It is also used to enhance facial features like the jawline and the cheekbones. It is among the types of dermal fillers that don’t react with the human tissues.

  1. Polylactic Acid

It is a lab-made filler that triggers the production of collagen as it acts as a stimulator. It is non-toxic and is even biodegradable, making it a favorite for 40 years. It is used to treat deep nasolabial folds, fill in laugh lines, and plump up thin lips.

It can be tough for some people to see themselves growing old with time. But, there are corrective methods like dermal fillers that help them look young for a longer time.
